Bernese Hiking Dog

This morning my son and I took Zoe, our Bernese Mountain Dog, for a hike up Rock Canyon. It's been a while since I've been up there. We let Zoe try out her new back pack; she did quite well. I just put a little water in for her to drink along the way.
My son did well also. I think he's ready to hike the "Y", a hike he has been wanting to do since we moved back to Utah.

I was at the park today and a woman came and tied a dog to the tree right by me and the kids. It looked a lot like Zoe, so I asked her what kind of dog it was. Sure enough, it was a Bernese Mountaing Dog. It was only 10 months old and had a lot of energy. The woman slapped it on the face when it wouldn't settle down and that really bothered me, but I don't know anything about dogs so maybe that's what you are supposed to do. Anyway, very pretty dog. It looks like you are all enjoying yours.
